Route Management (ROM)
Introduction
The module is part of the Backend Logistics cluster which provides management of the all the elements relating to all cash centre operations and the CIT logistic functions both in the field and at branch level. ROM relates to the management of all the service delivery elements relating to the CIT operations.
Business Context
The planning of routes, the issuing of equipment and consignments and the order planning at location level requires proper automation and complete tracking. The receive and dispatch area and the planning department are the business units where the process takes place.
Description
The functionality includes planning of the orders on applicable routes together with the use of available resources, keys and equipment. Within the CIT branch the operational management of sorting the incoming and outgoing shipments to/from a cash centre. At the CIT branch the automation of shipments and forwarding these on bulk routes to cash centre based upon contractual settings per client.
Then the integration with the cash centre processing system for dispatching and receiving (bulk) shipments between CIT staff and cash processing staff is part of the module. Detailed recording of the “Transfer of Liability” between the branch staff, the CIT Crew and the cash centre staff, using both a paper and an electronic data trail.
The management of the following elements is also possible :
- keys and equipment issuing and retrieval.
- the vault positions using wireless handheld functionality.
The module includes a standard interface with a 3rd party route optimization tool (such as TransVision, PTV Ordis). Also the module includes interfaces with 3rd party cash centre systems.
